Empowering privacy awareness through technology
Secure Browsing Guide
Cryp.TO is a monthy meeting currently hosted by developers, mathematicians and hackers that aims to act as event for training and assisting everyday users in utilizing powerful technology to enhance their own security. Topics will be ranging from primary encryption channels (FDE, Container, O/S) and the pros/cons of each, Canadian key enclosure law and how Rubberhose Cryptanalysis affects Canada in specific, various methods of secure data transmission across multiple mediums (TLS, VPN, SSL), public key policy, darknet/darkwebs, anonymity networking through P2P, applying number theory to reverse engineering as well as defending against social, traffic, network and disk analysis attacks and many more. If you have something awesome to add, get in touch. We'd love to hear it.
Our first meeting went well and we're planning the next one. Initial goal was for November but unfortunately we are all busy and thus will be pushed back further! We'll be actively monitoring the email and twitter so please get in touch if you would like to assist.
The prevalence and increasing of surveillance occurring on the average Canadian transmission has built a need to create technology that keeps messages secret and conversations private. We aim to prove that technology not only empowers freedom but that very freedom can be used to combat the issues revolving around the misconceptions of encryption and anonymous networking.
All are welcome to our meetings, though we kindly ask you please leave all your personal politics at the door. Do not assume
a lack of understanding of computer science concepts will hinder your involvement in any way. The aim for this organization is to
bring nearly unbreakable technology to the hands of an average person for empowerment in their every day life and we require
a variety of bright minds from every walk of life to enable this.
